BPCL-MR has achieved “First Indian Oil Refinery” to be rated under GreenCo Rating Certification

BPCL-MR has achieved the distinction of being “first Indian Oil Refinery” to be rated under GreenCo Rating Certification & based on a comprehensive quantitative assessment rated in the “SILVER Category”.

 

Organizing various awareness programs for employees on World Environment Day

World Environment Day, 5th June is celebrated every year by organizing various awareness programs for employees, students and general public such as display of banners, drawing competition for school children, tree plantation at various locations in Mumbai, free PUC check-up for petrol/diesel driven vehicles for public etc.

 

Best improvement in Furnace Efficiency

Mumbai Refinery has been judged as winner of OGCF 2018 under the category of “Best improvement in Furnace Efficiency” presented during the inaugural function of the 23rd Refining & Petrochemical Technology Meet (RPTM) in the year 2019.

 

Award for Excellence in “Energy Conservation and Management

BPCL Mumbai Refinery bagged ICC award for Excellence in “Energy Conservation and Management” for 2017-18.

 

Winner for Refinery Performance Improvement Award 2016-17

Mumbai Refinery has been judged as winner for Refinery Performance Improvement Award 2016-17 which was presented during the Inaugural function of the 22nd Refining & Petrochemicals Technology Meet (RPTM). The award was based on refinery performance parameters viz. crude throughput, Specific Energy Consumption, Carbon Emission Intensity, Operating Cost & specific water consumption.

 

INSSAN AWARD 2008 FOR SUGGESTION

INSSAN AWARD 2008 FOR SUGGESTION

The Mumbai Refinery Suggestion from Refinery Main Warehouse on PALLETIZED RACKING SYSTEM was adjudged the best suggestion and awarded the 1st prize in the National event organized by Indian National Suggestion Schemes Association (INSSAN) on 16th February’08.

The award was received by Mr. S.F. Kanchwalla, DGM (P&CS) and Mr. P.R. Sawant, Sr. Manager (Warehouse) at the hands of Mr. Date, President, INSSAN. This award was won amidst stiff competition from industrial giants like Tata Electric, Tata Motors, Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd., DRDO, Reliance Industries, Tata Power, Rastriya chemicals and fertilizers, Hero Honda Motors, BHEL and SAIL, etc..

RBNQA PERFORMANCE EXCELLENCE 2007

Mumbai Refinery won the prestigious "Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality Special Award 2007" for Performance Excellence under Manufacturing category on 21st March 2008.

The award was received by Mr. Ashok Sinha, C&MD , Mr. RK Singh Director (R), Mr. PS Bhargava ED (R) along with Mr. SS Sunderajan, DGM (Manufacturing I/C) and Mr. KA Kunjumon, Chief Manager (Quality Management) at the hands of Hon’le Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission, Govt. of India, Mr. Montek Singh Ahluwalia Chief Guest on this occasion.

GLORY OF MUMBAI AWARD

Mumbai Refinery won the “Glory of Mumbai” Award at the 13th Exhibition of Plants, Flowers, Fruits & Vegetables and Workshop held on 7th February 2008 at Veermata Jijabai Bhosale Udyan, Byculla and the 49th Annual Vegetables Fruits and Flower Show held on 23rd February 2008 at VJTI, Matunga.

It also bagged the 1st prize and Rolling Trophy in the category of the Best Maintained Housing Colony gardens, Best Collection and Display of Ferns and the Most Beautiful Tree (An old rain Tree at Trombay Club). This apart, ten more prizes were won under the various categories during this competition. 180 participants which included companies from the private and public sectors.

The awards were received by Mr. K Ravi, Chief Estates Manager at the hands of Mrs. Joyce Shankaran, Addl. Chief Secy. Education (Higher) Govt. of Maharashtra.

 

INTERNATIONAL ASIA PACIFIC QUALITY AWARD QUEST FOR EXCELLENCE

INTERNATIONAL ASIA PACIFIC QUALITY AWARD QUEST FOR EXCELLENCE

ON 18/06/2008 ‘ THE WORLD CLASS WINNERS ‘of the " INTERNATIONAL ASIA PACIFIC QUALITY AWARDS ( IAPQA) " were announced by ASIA PACIFIC QUALITY ORGANISATION (APQO) , Phillipines for the year 2008. The award is presented to exemplary companies of world – class quality performance chosen from more than 38 member countries.

Bharat Petroleum Mumbai Refinery won the "Quest For Excellence "award under large Manufacturing category. It is another ‘FIRST’ for BPCL since no other oil company in India has ever won this award since its inception in 1985.

 

GOLDEN PEACOCK ENVIRONMENT AWARD 2008

Bharat Petroleum, Mumbai Refinery won the Golden Peacock Environment Management Gold Award, 2008 under the large manufacturing category. BPCL was the only refinery to receive the award under oil & petroleum sector under Environment Management. The Award is instituted by World Environment Foundation, U.K.

ECONOMIC TIMES SMART WORKPLACE AWARD 2008

Mumbai Refinery was adjudged the winner of the "Smart Workplace Award 2008" under the Industrial manufacturing category. This Award instituted by the Economic Times in association with IT majors Acer and Intel. BPCL was amongst the 20 who emerged winners in different categories and verticals amongst 600 companies who vied for the top places.

Eminent Jury from Price Waters Coopers examined various facilities which included driven IT Systems and Infrastructure for staff productivity, world class quality and Business standards, Office Layout, furniture & facilities, Staff Health care measures and facilities at Colony and Club.

The award was received by Mr. MD Agrawal, DGM (Refinery IS), Mr. Anik Kumar Kaushik, GM (IS Applications), Mr. Kunjumon, Chief Manager (WM), Mr.Kedar Dhamanskar on 17.7.08.

 

QCFI MUMBAI CHAPTER QUALITY CIRCLE TEAM AWARD

QCFI MUMBAI CHAPTER QUALITY CIRCLE TEAM AWARD

Mumbai Refinery QC Teams from Maintenance, P&CS and P&A (Canteen) participated in the 22nd Annual Convention on Quality Circles organized by the Quality Circle Forum of India- Mumbai Chapter on 27.08.2008. Around 30 different companies / their units participated in the Annual Convention in which employees made presentation on the work done by their Quality Circles. Total 78 presentations were made in the convention and e participating employees from various organizations were fully charged and their presentations were made through models, short films.

The Team from Canteen and Ware House got Meritorious Award while team from Maintenance- Machine Shop won the Distinguished Award.

 

QUALITY CIRCLE NATIONAL CONVENTION DISTINGUISHED AWARD – TECHIES

QUALITY CIRCLE NATIONAL CONVENTION DISTINGUISHED AWARD – TECHIES

The Mumbai Refinery Quality Circle team from Maintenance " TECHIES" was awarded the Merit Certificate for their presentation on ‘ HIGH REPAIR TIME ON 131- P-110 PUMP’ in the National Convention on Quality Circle , 2008 held on 10.11.08 at Vadodara.

This was a second award in row for the same team which won a distinguished award recently in the convention organized by Quality Circle Federation of India, Mumbai Chapter. Though there was a stiff competition from other reputed organisations both public and private sector from all over India, our Quality Circle Team clinched this award.

The winners were R C Agarwal-QC Co-ordinator, Manish Agarwal-QC Facilitator, SH Bagwe, AP Doke, TL Tuscano, MC Ghopane, PV Gavandi, KM Koli.

 

GOLDEN PEACOCK NATIONAL TRAINING AWARD

Mumbai Refinery was awarded the "Golden Peacock National Training Award (GPNTA)" on 17.1.09. The award is the most prestigious and valuable recognition for training and synonymous with Excellence in training practices and effective training with improved business and individual performance in all sectors of Indian Corporate life. The Award has indeed created a benchmark for the Refinery and is a measure that will hold the key to business leadership in the 21st century.

JOURNEY OF BUSINESS EXCELLENCE

Mumbai Refinery won the prestigious Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality Performance Excellence Award – 2008 on 24.3.09 the most sought-after Business Excellence Award in the country. BPCL Mumbai Refinery is the only refinery in the country to have won RBNQA Performance Excellence Award and winning it a second time in a row.

The Award was received by Mr. P.S. Bhargava, (ED) – MR from His Excellency S.C. Jamir, Governor of Maharashtra.

 

INSSAN AWARD 2009 FOR SUGGESTION

Mumbai Refinery team was adjudged the "BEST SUGGESTION" for "Reduction in Bitumen Lorry Turn around time in Mumbai Refinery" . and awarded the Ist Prize in the 19th Annual Convention organized by INSSAN at Jamshedpur, Jharkhand on 10th & 11th April 2009.

It was a joint effort of Refinery Product Dispatches / Operations Departments and the second consecutive year Mumbai Refinery has won this prestigious award. Besides, it was won after stiff competition from 50 Industrial giants in the likes of TATA Motors, TATA Electric, Hero Honda

The Best Suggestor’s Trophy and citation was received by Dr. V.K. Jacob, Sr. Manager (IT), Mr R.D. Sawant (Manager PD –LPG) & Mr. A. Mukherjee , Manager (CDU) at the hands of Mr. S.B. Borwankar CEO TATA Steel, Jamshedpur who was the Chief Guest. Other prize winners of Mumbai Refinery at the award function were Mr. Vikram Gupta, Officer Maintenance Instruments - Merit prize in the Poster competition, Mr. P.S. Sahota, Instrument Technician - Second prize in Hindi Slogan Competition. Mr. S.P.Gharat, Manager (Learning Centre) had the Honor of becoming the Member of Panel of Judges for selecting the "Best Technical Paper" which were presented during this event by various organizations.
